Chevrolet ingenuity, craftsmanship, and automobile performance led to a strong showing at the Auto Club 400 on Mar. 1st.
Chevrolet driver Alex Bowman took first place — Chevrolet’s first win of the season — with fellow Chevrolet Drivers Kurt Busch, Chase Elliot, and Jimmie Johnson following him in third, fourth and seventh, respectively.
Bowman singled out the new Chevrolet Camaro for praise, saying, “The new body helped us a lot,” and concluding, “Chevy did a good job with that car.” Bowman also performed well in Las Vegas the week before, holding second place until a caution late in the race threw him off into 13th place.
Kurt Busch also came away from the Auto Club 400 singing the praises of his Chevrolet supercar. “Car felt good all weekend,” he said after crossing the finish line, following up later by saying he felt “the Chevys had a really good balance when it came to speed and long speed run.”
Overall, Chevy drivers held the lead in 127 of the race’s 200 laps. Chevrolet did not take a win until the 10th race of last season, so their excellent performance in the Auto Club 400 — the third race of this season — was thrilling and exceptionally promising.
We may not sell the same performance-tuned Camaros used at the Auto Club 400, but rest assured that the Camaros at K & J Chevrolet still pack a serious punch.
